Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBD?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid which when taken has been shown to provide a variety of health benefits for humans and animals.
What is a cannabinoid?
Cannabinoids are organic chemical compounds that are naturally produced in almost all living entities. When produced within plants, such as hemp-derived CBD, they are called phytocannabinoids. When produced within humans and animals they are called endocannabinoids. Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system made up of neural cell receptors called CB1 and CB2.
What is hemp? What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Hemp is a term used to classify varieties of Cannabis that contain 0.3% or less THC content (by dry weight). Marijuana is a term used to classify varieties of Cannabis that contain more than 0.3% THC (by dry weight) and can induce psychotropic or euphoric effects on the user.
Will CBD get me high?
No, CBD is non-psychoactive. It does not result in the feelings of euphoria associated with THC from marijuana nor does it elicit any sensation of being “high” or “stoned.”
Does ZuRI CBD contain any THC?
ZuRI CBD offers isolate and full-spectrum options. Isolate is THC-free and Full Spectrum contains up to .3% THC.
What happens if I take too much?
Cannabidiol is known to be non-toxic, with no known fatal overdose levels ever reported. Studies have shown that regular use and high doses up to 1,500 mg/day of CBD are well tolerated in humans. Doses exceeding this amount, in rare cases, may produce the minor side effects and may interfere with the efficacy of certain medications. Always consult your physician when trying a new supplement such as CBD in your health care regimen.
What is the difference between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate?
Full-spectrum CBD is a whole-plant extract that contains additional beneficial compounds that naturally occur in the hemp plant including other cannabinoids, minerals, proteins, terpenes, flavonoids and healthy fatty acids that all work synergistically with CBD to affect your endocannabinoid system. This is known as an “entourage effect” which is nature’s own healing formulation. Formulated from raw crude extract, full-spectrum tinctures contain the complete hemp plant profile and are therefore darker in color and stronger in taste. CBD isolate (ISO) is the purest and most concentrated form of cannabidiol. It takes effect in the body very quickly and a lesser quantity is necessary to induce desired effects. It is CO2 extracted and further purified to remove unwanted components including traces of THC, terpenes, waxes, oils, chlorophyll and more. This leaves a 99% pure tasteless and odorless CBD powder.
How long does it take for CBD to work?
Results from CBD happen at different rates, depending on what symptom you are addressing and the degree of any health imbalances. Usage method, the quality and type of CBD plus your weight, metabolic rate and composition also play a role in how long it takes to get results.
Can I take other medications with my CBD?
Always consult with your doctor before using CBD products in combination with other medications. CBD does not have any harmful side effects when used on its own but may interact with some prescribed medication. It can have a heightening effect with some sedatives and can inhibit enzymes required for metabolizing certain medication.
Where do you source your CBD?
ZuRI sources all their CBD from Denver, Colorado.
